This past week, the nation was shocked to learn of the discovery of the buried remains of 215 children at a former residential school in Kamloops, BC. We can sometimes think that the things of the past are past. But when evidence surfaces, like the discovery of the unmarked graves, suddenly the past is all brought forward into the present; and the history of the church breaks through time to sit heavily in our hearts today. How do we respond to human suffering at the hands of the church? This week, Rev. Jim searches the texts for understanding, and to find proactive responses that help us on our way to reconciliation and forgiveness.
